Arctic Circle Greenland
The world's first mtb trip to Greenland
We’re honoured to offer the world’s first mountain bike adventure to be offered in Greenland. That’s right, you can be a pioneer and lay first tracks in this spectacular arctic destination. We start the trip 250 kms north of the Arctic Circle in the village of Ilulissat with its famous UNESCO World Heritage designated ‘Icefjord’, a fjord that’s overflowing with building-sized icebergs calving from the fastest moving glacier in the world; the Sermeq Kujalleq. Around Illulissat we’ll ride it’s amazing rockslab playgrounds with the sound of ice cracking, whales breaching and sled dogs barking in the distance. Next stop is a point-to-point singletrack bike packing ride through a remote region inland from the village of Sisimiut that will test one’s grit and defines remote untouched nature as you ride past nameless lakes, rivers and mountains in a pristine natural environment. You’ll also experience the fascinating culture of Greenland where the local population are descendants of Canada’s Inuit, with a strong Scandinavian and Norse influence as a result of colonization. This trip spends two nights in hotels, a night in an overnight ship in private cabins and three nights of self-supported bikepacking. This is our first true expedition that is led by a professional Canadian guide with extensive experience and knowledge of arctic environments.
