Welcome to Spain’s Best-Kept Secret: Riding the Pyrenees
There’s something about Spain that gets under your skin in the best possible way. Maybe it’s the slow lunches. Maybe it’s the people—fiercely proud, incredibly warm. Or maybe it’s the food. OK, it’s definitely the food. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say it’s also the riding.
This fall, we’re launching a brand-new trip through the Spanish Pyrenees, and it’s one I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. This isn’t your typical Euro mountain bike tour. This is a shuttle-assisted, gravity-fueled adventure into one of Europe’s wildest and most underrated trail networks—led by two of the best local guides that we work with, Bea and Andres.
Raw. Rugged. Real.
From the historic town of Aínsa to the jagged trails of the Benasque Valley and the surreal landscapes of Sierra de Guara, this trip is a highlight reel of everything I love about mountain biking: tight switchbacks, fast and loose descents, forested singletrack, and terrain that will test your technical chops in the best way.
The vibe? Enduro-style. Expect 4-6 hours of riding each day, powered by our private shuttles and your own stoke level. It’s not a race—but it will push you. The Badlands of Aínsa, in particular, are otherworldly: sculpted by centuries of wind and water, they’re steep, loose, and completely unforgettable.
Not Just the Trails—The Whole Experience
We begin in Barcelona, that magical seaside city where Gaudí’s curves meet Michelin-starred restaurants. From there, we head into the high country for a week of riding that blends adventure, culture, and some seriously good food. Tapas and wine in medieval squares? Check. High-alpine lakes beneath Aneto, the highest peak in the Pyrenees? Absolutely. A post-ride soak at a spa hotel? Yes, please.
And in true Big Mountain style, we’ve dialled in the details so you can focus on the ride:
7 nights of great accommodation
All breakfasts and three delicious dinners
Shuttles, airport transfers, and a guiding crew that has your back
And of course, a pre-trip info kit that covers everything you need to know before wheels down in Spain
Is This Trip for You?
If you’ve been riding for five-plus years and love a mix of flow and technical, this trip is for you. We’re talking rocky alpine descents, rooty switchbacks, and moments where you’ll stop just to stare at the view. You don’t need to be a pro—but you do need to love the ride.
Why Now?
Because Spain’s Pyrenees are still off the radar for most riders outside Europe. And because with Bea and Andres leading the way, you’ll get access to trails and stories you won’t find on Trailforks or Instagram. This is Spain—unfiltered, uncrowded, and unbelievably fun.
So... you in?

We only run this one once in 2025: September 27 – October 4. Small group. Big adventure. Plenty of vino.
See you in Spain!
